30Kw System – 121 Accountancy, Venta House
Project description
30Kw System – 121 Accountancy, Venta House, 9A Port Road, Maesglas, Newport
The Client
Ice Solar were approached by 121 Accountancy’s, Carol Peterson in late 2018. Carol was looking for a solution in which as a business they could reduce the company’s carbon emissions, rising energy costs alongside having a great investment for the future. Carol wanted a full turn key solution with minimal disruption to the businesses operating within the building during the installation, however due to the type of work that was carried out and sensitive information stored, this work must be carried out during the working week.
The Design
Due to the previous use of the building, characteristics and shape, a design was carried out by Jason Pumford BEng (Hons) CEng MinstMC (Technical Director, ICE Solar), this design included having to mount on a multi-level roof due to minimize shading, for this we used the Renusol Ballasted Mounting System, 340watt polycrystalline PV Panels and 3phase IP65 External Inverter complete with remote data logger.
The Solution
Using the MCS guidelines, a 30Kw Solar Pv installation with maximum efficiency was designed, that can be remotely monitored from anywhere in the world by the client, keeping a track of exactly what is being generated, used and saved.
The Finances
With Ice Solar having the ability to introduce third party Asset financing, the Enhanced tax allowances that businesses receive when investing in green energy and carbon reduction schemes, 121 Accountancy were able to gain finance and have no initial outlay for the Solar PV system, instead using the savings monthly by the reduction in energy costs to pay off this asset, giving a payback period of approx. 4.3years. 121 Accountancy will then enjoy index linked payments and massively reduced energy bills for the next 20years earning them over £150,000 of energy costs and FIT payments in the process, all while helping Carbon Reduction.
The Install
ICE Solar installation team of roofers and electricians started in January of 2018 as the full turnkey solution as requested, with all plant, labour and logistics being planned and organised around the client’s instructions and needs.
The system was operational, and the site cleared after four days of challenging conditions, with the only problems being the weather and staying out of the local café.
‘From my initial contact through to the end of the project, the ICE Solar team have been professional, helpful and taken all pressure off by doing everything they can to ensure a smooth running and pain free project, with any questions or queries I had, answered quickly and effectively with no pressure, I would certainly recommend them’ – Carol Peterson, 121 Accountancy
‘It is always satisfying when a customer can see the benefits of the systems we put in, financially but also the dedication and professionalism of us as a business. The fact that a leading accountant in the area can see the financial and investment benefits in what we do just strengthens our position in the market and will hopefully give others the confidence to look at Solar Pv as an option’ – Anthony Smith, ICE Solar
